WII & GameCube question

God knows if this has been discussed but:

GameCube Component cables are no longer sold and command a premium on Ebay for a set. Will compatible GameCube games scan at the higher resolution if played on a WII?

Only if the Gamebube game supported Progressive scan when it came out. Also Progressive scan isnt a higher resolution, just a different way to present that resolution.
 
Technically they aren't HD, rather ED, but yes, the Wii should do them in 480p. In fact I believe it will even do the non progressive scan ones as a progressive signal through component (I recall reading someone who was playing Gamecube games saying even the non progressive ones looked noticably sharper and better). I could be mistaken on this last part though.
 
Well then I will be selling my Component GameCube cable to the highest bidder as a way to recoup some of the WII costs😀
