Wii case fan - does yours turn on?

I have never noticed mine spinning. I have begun to wonder if it ever spins. Has anyone noticed theirs spin?

never noticed it and never checked... dead silent when the cd drive isnt spinning

I think its only on when the system is on, and its quiet. If the system is in standby (with or without WiiConnect24 on) the fan is off.

I have yet to update to 3.0u, but some have reported with the new update, the fan will start to run if the system is too hot in standby mode.

I've heard this too.

I have noticed that my system has been cooler with WiiConnect24 on after the past two updates (3.0 and the bug fix). Then again it was never really that hot, just warm. If the fan still doesn't work in standby then something else has changed since the update.

I don't usually check it but as far as I know mine only turns on when it's running. I haven't updated to 3.0U yet.

I always leave wiiconnect off because it would get pretty hot. I'll have to try and leave it on and see what happens with the update.
