WiFi speed plummets until I reinstall adapter

So I have a this WiFi card in my desktop and it had been working flawlessly for a month or two. But recently I saw my WiFi speed drop from around 32Mbit to about 1/8 of that. I initially thought it was something on my provider's end but every other WiFi connected device in my house still achieves 30Mbit when tested.

After playing around, I find that if I uninstall the device in Control Panel and reboot the system, I have my 30~ back... for a while. But I eventually have to do it again.

I have already tried playing with drivers; I was initially running the Windows 8.1 driver from Microsoft, but am now running the latest Qualcomm driver. No effect one way or the other.

Any ideas on why this could be happening?

Best bet is probably get a new adapter or wait for new Rosewill drivers. What happens if you install the Rosewill drivers in compatibility mode?

I had problems with my WiFi adapter in 8.1 (worked decent in 8). Intel stopped supporting it and only Microsoft supplied drivers. I just went back to Windows 7.

Even installing under compatibility mode, I have to run restore upon reboot.

The more I look into this, it seems that everybody is just repackaging Qualcomm's driver released on 1/21/13. And the Microsoft driver identifies as being 4 months newer.

Anyways, I never had any problems under Windows 8.1 but it's occurring to me that 8.1 Update 1 may have brought my problems.

I may hunt for a new adapter but I'm struggling to find a decently-rated one that isn't based on the exact same chipset anyways.

Any suggestions?

I've confirmed that this is only happening with WiFi now. Over LAN I get my consistent 33mbps. :\
