so if you do a search on 'microSD wifi' you will get some hits about types of cards you can buy to make your non-wifi cell phone/device into a wifi device. however, nothng is ready for purchase.

It looks like that they sell SD wifi cards and miniSD wifi cards, but I cannot find any 'microSD wifi cards.'

Has anyone seen any of those anywhere on the net that is ready for purchase?

If not, for a cellphone, what can I do so it is wifi capable?

I thought that the wifi only made the actual storage avaliable to any device (eg pc) with a wireless card via wifi. So that i could for example transfer the photos off my camera to my computer without physically removing the card. i may be wrong

I'm not sure how it works, and my understanding of how these things worked was similar to Foges, and then I hit Google.

It doesn't seem to work with all phones, and I'm still trying to figure out how it works at all - since I'd think the phone would try to treat it as a storage device - but it does seem to work based on the reviews.

As far as the original question:

It looks like they've made one, but that it's not for sale anywhere yet.

I'd keep at watch out for it - or email or phone the manufacturer. (spectec@spectec.com.tw or 011-886-2-27532953)

My friend has a Roku(sp?) mp3 streamer for his stereo and it has a miniSD wireless card that makes his Roku work without the network cable. I have no idea how they would work on a Cell Phone though since the Roku is technically a network device even without the wireless card.

Funny, my post never showed up. Anyways, it works because its recognized as a SDIO device. From what I understand on the spectec cards, they currently only have drivers for Windows Mobile and Windows CE devices. Maybe there are drivers for S60 devices, but it would take a miricle to make these things work with almost anything else.
