Wifi file explorer pro => Great program !!!

For who does not know about the program, it is great.
It has been on the app market for quite some time i think.
I was bothered about the fact that i had to use the USB cable all the time for every transfer. This would wear out the usb micro connector fast.
Thus i started using bluetooth, but sometimes uploading would not function and it took forever with large files of tens to hundreds of Megabytes.

I recently tried out the free demo version (wifi file explorer without the "pro"). Now i have bought the pro version. (Only 69 eurocent or 91 dollarcent)
This program turns your android phone into a web server accessible through your browser. Then you can download , upload and stream music by use of the wifi connection. 🙂
The free version only allows downloads and streaming from your android phone to your pc.
The pro version can also upload and more i have not yet tried out.
It has a password option.
The used IP port is configurable. And when the program starts, it presents the IP address that you must type in your browser address bar.
For example 192.168.1.2:8000.
Then you get a webpage that looks like a file explorer.
Since it is wifi, that means megabytes transfers in a few seconds.
And no longer an USB cable is needed except for charging of the lithium ion battery.

I am pleased with it.
^_^

I got it as Amazon's free app of the day. I still prefer direct USB cable but this is a nice backup.

BTW, is that screenshot of your phone content?

File Expert will do this for free.

IMHO:
It is free. But there will be questions for donations...
Nothing is really for free. And for less than a euro or dollar, i do not see the issue. That is a bargain price for an app some people put a lot of time into to create it.

But file expert is also a nice program.

Yep. I've had File Expert installed on my phone since October.
I updated to the latest version earlier this month, noticed some features in it was not working right, then restored back to my old version using Titanium Backup.
File Expert used to have a 4.8 rating on Market. Now it has 4.5 because a bunch of people are getting their panties in a wad and spamming it's reviews by giving it 1 star ratings.

I liked Wifi File Explorer Pro when it came out for Amazon Apps

However, I since replaced it with AirDroid.

AirDroid is ridiculously awesome in the sense that, you log into your phone via wifi (like the other apps), but then you have almost full access to your phone.
My favorite feature? Being able to text people via proxy through your browser to your phone. You send/receive texts like an IM client, but its all done through your cell #!

Thanks man, airdroid is an awesome app! Can't believe I never came across this app.

Samba is also an app that you can use to transfer files over Wi-Fi but you need root privileges.

I can already do that with Google Voice from any computer.
Any other interesting features? Might have a look at it later this weekend when I'm free.

Man...So many options for apps listed in this thread.
