WiFI barely works even in the same room ...

deftron

Lifer
Haven't used my laptop in a long time.

Was going to use it on the couch.

I have a wireless router in my computer room which is about 50 feet away.

No signal at all 🙁

So I bring the laptop into the computer room and
just barely gt a signal right next to the router 😕

Hmm. do WiFi cards go bad and get weak or router antennas?

Which one is more likely to be bad?

Is there anything that could be causing an interference in the room?

such as a 2.4ghz cordless phone or anything?

Phone is 900 mGHZ...

Got that one cause a 2,4 ghz did cause interference when I used the
WiFi a lot before...

It's weird cause the router used to work throughout the aprtment fine when I used my laptop daily before... now all of a sudden it barely works at all

Neighbors could have 2.4 Ghz phones...

Try channel 11.

Also, see if the router is near something that maybe causing interference. Get it away from speakers and computer monitors. Both have electromagnetic fields. I'm going to mount my router in a closet soon.
