I bought one of These 7DBI magnet mount antennas. My question is probably a stupid one but as they say the only stupid question is the one not asked :D

Anyway the eBay listing says B/G but will this work with wireless 'N' I assume the answer is yes as N is still 2.4GHZ (At least single band N is) but I just want to make sure

Thanks

Frequency matters for antennae. The wireless standard doesn't mean a thing. If it worked for G, it will work for N.

I wonder how good a $5 7dbi antenna will be, though.

OK thanks that is what I thought
Actually the antenna works well as I can now pick up a WiFi network from about 1000FT away (I can't connect though as the signal is too weak) I am seeing a whole lot more networks though and I can now connect to my own network in the other end of the house where with the OEM antenna I could not

In most cases changing Antenna to Higher gain does not do much indoor.

You seem to be Lucky. Distance is secondary to the nature of the Environment, in your case the nature of your environment is probably more friendly than usual.

Be on guard, it is Not uncommon that something changes in the Environment and suddenly it is Not working well any more.

A an Example My house has two parts (like U shape), between the two wings there is a dense garden.

Right now the Wireless work vet well all over (cause the garden is bare in the Winter). When the garden in-between comes full out in late Spring, each wings needs its own Access Point since the Wireless is blocked by the vegetation (and even high-gain directional Antenna does help).
