Hello, recently i have bought the used wifi adapter of tp-link tl-wn722n. i have tried this adapter in couple of other laptops and its working correctly on them. but on my pc, tl-wn722n is not working and not even giving a driver missing error. i have tried to reinstall the drivers of "universal serial bus control" but nothing happens. i have also checked other wifi adapters on my pc and they are working perfectly.

USB port too loose for the adapter to be recognized? Wrap the adapter's USB plug with aluminum tape.

It could also be Windows 10's problem, sometimes it just kept losing USB device's connection.

Well, it seems it's not compatible with Windows 10 (if ti's your OS) and if your device is v1.

Thanks for your reply.. but i have tried the USB hub also to check if it's my usb port problem but it doesn't work either. Moreover, i have tried this adapter on my friend's laptop running Windows 10 and on that laptop, I just installed the driver and then it starts working. but on my pc the driver is not detecting a device.

i have tried the USB hub

Has the adapter ever detected being plugged in? Did device manager show yellow exclamation mark for the adapter or nothing shows up?

Sometimes PC/laptop does not have enough power for it's USB ports.

Does the USB hub use external power?

Usually a new $15 adapter will just solve the issue instead you wasting days trying to fix it.

No, on my pc I never noticed that yellow exclamation. but on my friend's laptop, this sign occurs and then I installed the driver which make the adapter run successfully.

And yes i have the A4tech usb hub with an external power source and it doesn't work either.

So it did not appear anywhere in the device manager, when you plug/unplug the adapter, nothing happened?

not even under Network adapters with a left corner yellow exclamation mark?

And other USB devices worked properly on the USB hub?

If that's the case, there is nothing you can do. Buy a new adapter.

Did you try something else in the USB to make sure that it is working.

Yes, I try some other adapters and USBs on that port and they are working correctly.
This. They're cheap enough.

I'm currently using a Comfast AC600 wifi + BT combo adapter, less than $10 shipped from China on ebay.
Actually, I was looking for an adapter that has penetration testing power and Tl-wn722n V1 is one of the top 3 powerful adapters. so that's why I'm looking to resolve its problems otherwise I already have some normal wifi adapters.
