I think coexist, although wi-fi will be more popular.

I'd be happy with excellent cell phone coverage nationwide, it still doesn't exist perfectly. I don't need 3G's bells and whistles. Internet on a phone is suck.

I saw this article today about a new standard 802.16, aka WiderFi. Sounds uber cool. If this stuff gets to consumer market I'm getting rid of my cell phone, and have a VOIP handheld device, the possibilites are quite intrequing.
