Wife's laptop shuts off when you tilt it back

I had seen this once before in a Dell, it was a loose battery charger board. Completely disassembled my wife's Toshiba and everything is secure, not really any dust, everything looks secure and fine. No accelerometer built in afaik.

Any ideas? I'm starting to put it back together now.

is the system running off of battery or AC when this happens?

Both I think, once its all back together I'll plug it in and test but I believe I've seen it happen on A/C as well as Battery,

Hmmmm, well it seems to be working ok since I put it back together. I can tilt it in all directions and its working like a champ, maybe something wasn't put together right from the factory or something, but its working ok right now.

I'll post back if it acts up again.

Sounds like to me it was a shorting issue - once you tilted it back, two (somethings) made contact and caused it to power down. A loose screw or metal piece inside the notebook usually is the culprit. Sounds like as you disassembled it you got rid of whatever was causing the short.

So I know you've already solved it, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.
