Wife wants new Android phone .... good camera wanted

My wife is ready for her new phone. Her only real requirement is a good primary camera. The selfie camera is not important.

My requirement is that this shouldn't be an ultra expensive phone. Not sure what that means to be honest but I want to keep it under $400. I'm going to cricket wireless so I need an unlocked model.

EDIT:
Want expandable memory unless the phone in question is a 64 GB model.

UPDATE:
Ordered the Moto X Pure Edition for my wife yesterday.
Thanks for all the help!!!

How big of a phone is she comfortable with? I have a 5x right now, but came from a G4 and would easily take the G4 camera over the 5x. In general, I prefer most things about the G4 over the 5x other than the finger print scanner on the Nexus.

I was thinking along a similar line. LG G3 or G4 would probably work really well.

G4 is a good bet. She can purse carry. I think LG has an official flip case for that.

I don't think my wife cares much about the size of the phone. She has a 5" screen right now and I think if anything that is as big as she wants.

The G4 is $450 though. A bit higher than I'd like to spend. Any black Friday deals?

The G3 is in the $280 vicinity which is fine.

Moto X has a good camera from what I am reading. EDIT: To be specific, the Moto X Style is the model with the good camera.

EDIT 2: Is this Moto X Style even available yet?

best bet imo is to look for a deal on an LG G4 or LG V10.

You might consider a Note 4 as the camera on it from last year is still damn good (it was one of the first android phones with optical image stabilization as I recall) just not the best that is in this year's models.

Why not have her keep her existing phone? You can get a pretty nice point and shoot for less than $400.

OP, unless she has a need for memory card I believe the Nexus 5X regularly beats out the Moto X in camera performance. It has especially good low light performance.

LGV10. Best overall camera on a phone.

It is good but it is out of his budget.

The V10 isn't going to be feasible as he needs it unlocked and the only way you'd get it for his budget is subsidized right now. The G4 might be possible though.

The G2 had OIS before the Note 3 even. Note 4 does have a good camera though.

A little above your budget but the Z5 Compact can be had for about $500 on eBay. It's smaller, unlocked, and has the best Android camera available.

This. If you're willing to stretch the budget up a little, the Z5C works fine on Cricket. I ordered one from the UK with Clove, works fine.

I saw the motorolla cyber Monday deals. The deals listed now are for second gen phones. I want 3rd gen.

Right now I am planning on the Moto X Pure Edition for my wife and the nexus 5X for me.

If you really loved your wife you'd buy her an iphone.

If you'd buy her an android you're probably having an affair.
Hopefully she leaves you and gets the man she deserves, a man who will buy her an iphone.

You are trolling. Another infraction point and another day auto vacation.

On another note, Moto X Pure is definitely nice, and have external storage options. Though I think 5X/6P might have a bit better camera
