No it certainly doesn't. Hard for animal strikes to rip up hard parts underneath. Even armadillos don't usually tear up steering/suspension/oil pan. I'd be wondering what that shop is up to. Good you are going to potentially retain possession regardless of outcome. Have you got the title?

Get a used Avalon hybrid.

FWIW: When my wife gets a new car eventually, the Avalon will replace her Prius. I almost want to do the swap now.

if you wait like 2 years, the hybrid avalon will get the same MPG as the current Prius.

I know when I did an initial peak under, pretty much everything from radiator to exhaust down the line looked bent and beat up... so I would guess that all adds up quick.
