I was freaking out because she is pregnant, we were hoping this was strictly a skin problem and not internal so it wouldn't harm the baby.
They started out as brown discolorations, and then they opened and looked like bad blisters. There were lines sprouting from the sores and shooting around to the back of her legs. We were both scared, hoping she didn't catch anything.
We first thought she caught something from her sister. I brought the sister to the pharmacy to get a valtrex prescription a few days prior. She was getting blisters on her mouth. The doctors were stumped about her too. My wife was drinking from the same straw, so she got worried that something spread.
The dermatologist asked her if she was doing body shots?! Both my wife and her sister were eating limes on the beach. Her sister got it on her face, and my wife got it on her legs. The lines sprouting to the back of her legs was the juice dripping down.
The diagnosis was Phototoxic dermititis from lime juice
The funny part was the doctor's last patient with this was a 14 year old with her mother, and she had it all over her lower stomach. Naughty naughty.
So the baby is fine, we find if it is a boy or girl in a few weeks!!
