I have a feeling that we've only begun viewing the tip of the iceberg, so to speak.

But hey, tis the season for politics!

At least she now uses his last name...would confuse the children to have a first-lady with a different last name...that "until death do us part" is so 1972'ish anyway.

She should know better than to say anything because some wanker is going to come up with things here on OT totally off the wall.

One US president is responsible for killing the most babies in quite a while. Perhaps Bush serves them on a spit for Chinese leaders in an orgiastic display satisfying his Blood and Skull requirements.

We can play this game all day, and I am sure you have to.

LOL. Republicans grasping for straws to get their "small government" "conservative" "war" president reelected.
Face it, if you have half a billion dollars and you are getting married, you have a prenup, love or no love.

granted this is for Elle magazine but it is just silly that she admitted it instead of saying "that is a private matter" like she now wishes she would have.

That is just poor and sloppy reporting. IMO... prenups aren't about trust they are about CYA because sh** happens.

Stop that common sense talk. I had an epiphany after reading the rightwinger wisdom. I trust myself not to have an accident, so I am cancelling my insurance.

The only way Heinz Kerry could now give substantial money to Kerry's campaign would be to tear up her prenup and kill herself.

Ouch, talk about being blunt

excuses for what ? getting married ?
I'm not gonna spell it out for you. But who should a person trust most? Who should know that person the best? It's a character question. Ok I spelled it out for you :)

This is a valid question and know you are not married to every other driver on the road or yourself (although Mass. is looking into Asexual marriage nerds of the world unite) so that doesn't wash.

How do you equate having a prenup with not trusting someone ?

I guess it depends on who is signing it. The person signing it can see it as a sign of mistrust, but they can also see it as a sign of love. By signing it the person is essentially saying "I don't care about your money. Oh well, with some this is just another piece of useless garbage they will try to make out to be something of great importance.

So he signs a prenup and that somehow means he is not trustworthy? Couldn't be because he wanted a marriage without the stress of money hanging over his it's head? An act of good faith toward the woman to let her know you're not marrying her for her money maybe?I don't see any quotes where his wife said she didn't trust him. I'd say if she married him then she trusts him .
WHoever wrote that article is a complete moron.

What part about half a billion in family fortune do you not understand? That kind of money is not like the penny-ante in us-normal-folks' checking accounts.

Holster your guns there tough guy.:p I don't fault her at all for getting a pre-nup. Infact I think it was rather smart of her considering...

weak...

from all the marriage threads on atot, you'd think conservatives would stick to their guns when it comes to prenup. they seem to love the idea that fair is fair, that the woman should not get a dime that isn't hers. i guess maybe having the tables turned with a rich woman disturbs conservatives.
