Got a system here today and it has me stumped!

The system was running slow for the end user and he complained that he was getting a BSOD allot.
He asked for a rebuild and I obliged.

After the rebuild everything seemed great here, but when he got it home it started acting up...it would simply go to the Windows 2000 booting screen, get all the bars and then reboot. I did a clean install again and it boots into Windows now, but at random it just shuts off and restarts.

No errors in the event log, no BSOD..nothing.
If you look in the event log it says nothing at all..its like a clean boot from scratch.

I cant seem to find what is causing this issue, anyone got any ideas?

EDIT:

System Specs:

Abit BE6-II motherboard
PIII - 600mhz Slot 1 cpu
192meg pc100 sdram
Maxtor 20GB hardrive
Nvidia TNT-2 video card
Creative Labs PCI128 audio card
Linksys NIC

I had the same thing happen 2 times. One time was due to poor air circulation. Was over heating and I just added a fan. the second time it was a bad powersupply. Swap with a different PS and see if it happens again.

you can also have thta problem and it not be hardware related. go into the advanced tab, startup and recovery, uncheck restart, then it will give you a bsod instead of rebooting and itll be logged so yuo can troubleshoot it if its not your psu or ram.

which btw would have been ny first guesses up until a month ago.

I had the same exact problem since changing my computer drive to scsi (cheetah + 39160 adaptec).
It only happened when I played my favorite game (age of mythology) and all of a sudden 5 minutes into the game the computer just reboot. No BSOD, or error on the event viewer. I install both win2k/winxp to test and got the same exact symtoms. Well I am thingking of getting back to IDE for this reason.
Power supply is enermax and the computer is working just fine when not playing game.
BTW, for those of you thinking going to XP please do so, I install both OS on my computer and by far XP is much faster than when win2k is installed.
Let me know if you found whats the problem.

I dont get a BSOD at all, i already checked that out.
I might swap out the PSU and see if that helps out to...

Funny thing is I have another system here doing something similar.

It boots up fine, but instantly puts me in the BIOS.
I make a change..or even if i dont, when i select the option to leave the BIOS it shuts down the pc...the grren power light is still light like it is in suspend mode or something...
