wierd video thing going on with my rosewill 6600gt

so i just upgraded my computer, i put 1gb of pc3200 ram in it, traded out my 9700 pro for a rosewill 6600gt, and i reinstalled windows

i have an an35n mobo with an oced axp mobil 2200+ to 2400mhz

so first off i'l like to explain what happened

i put everything into the case, video card, ram
and started it up, on on my lcd via dvi connector it said "floppy error", no problem, so i restart it

so i flipped the floppy connector around and started the computer back up, and i get no video signal to my hitchi lcd monitor, so i unplug the floppy connector after shutting down and restart it, still no post screen, just a blank screen, no signal detected, so i start unplugging things thinking my enermax 550W psu is overloaded and the video card is not getting enough power, so i'm freaking out now, so i hook up my other 17" lcd monitor to the vga port, and viola! post screen, widnows starts it instalation

so after windows is installed i install the video drivers, and it detects my lcd monitor, so i switch the video back to that, and every time i restart the computer, it simply will not show the post screen, the monitor simply says no signal until windows gets the login screen. i find this strange, because the first few times i started it, the card would post on my dvi lcd, and all of a sudden it just stopped.

does anyone know how to fix this, because anytime i have to adjust setting in my bios i have to go pull my other lcd monitor off my other computer and hook it up the vga port

so whati see with two monitors is
vga monitor : post, windows laod screen
dvi: nothing until after the first monitor is done loading windows, then the vga monitor shuts off and the dvi monitor turns on

this is extremely annoying, somone please help me, i know it has to do with the card too because, i put my R9700 pro back in and i see post through the dvi channel and everything loads fine (this was before reinstalling windows)

I believe that something is just screwed. I think that the card assumes that the VGA port is the primary output. I can't help you fix it without actually trying stuff out with it. 😛

This happened a lot with my MSI 6600 AGP. I had both the VGA and DVI leads from my monitor going to the back of my computer, incase I needed to use the VGA connector to see the BIOS screen.

The problem went away for a week or two, and then it occured again. I was trying out various drivers, so that might have something to do with it. Overall, the problem is annoying.

Hopefully this is not related, but my card became unstable after a month and I RMA'd it. I'm awaiting my new card at the moment. This will be my third 6600GT card. My old Ti4200 runs like a champ, as my backup for now.

so you think it might just be that the cared might need to be sent back to newegg in exchange for a working one? or should i return it for a different brand?

should i call newegg of rosewill customer support?

I would go with a diff brand personally. BFG is top in my book, but Asus/eVGA/MSI are good also.
Rosewill is like a generic brand isn't it? I wouldn't put my money into a generic video card. But that's me
