i log into my linux box, using the ansi terminal type, which allows you to type up or down arrow for previous commands (much like doskey for windows). my problem is i see the normal login [user@localhost user]$ prompt but after hitting the up arrow and down arrow after a while, it deteriorates to the point where previous commands kinda overlaps my login ID. so after a while i might see [user@localhoifconfig eth0 (where the command ifconfig eth0 was the last command i executed) as far as i can tell it doenst hurt anyhitng. i can just backspace and delete everything, hit enter then i see [user@localhost user]$ again. it doesnt hurt anyhting as far as i can tell, but it looked wierd to me and is obviously a bug.
