So we know these things rea heat monsters and obsolete, but hey it's what I go tand right now I am bumping up against the heat barrier.

So I had THIS HSF on there, with grill removed and a little scotch tape to optimize airflow.

I figured the best name in cooling would beat that, so I decided to try THIS. The stupid thing doens't even post half the time. I the fan on it should be comparable to the one on the Dynatron.

When I removed it it looked like the AS5 wasn't smushed to an almost nonexisten tlayer the way it is on the Dynatron. SO i used the 3-prong clip that came with the dynatron. No dice.

Both copper pieces appear to be about the same mass.

My assumption: either the heat sink base is warped, or the thermalright piece is super-obsolete technology. As far as I can tell short of paying like $30-40 I;m not going to get anything better than the Dynatron. I may try an 80mm->60mm fan adapter with a Vantec Tornado. I also ordered some Alpha PAL heatsinks for pretty cheap so I will try those too.
