HP Pavilion zv5245EA
Display resolution
1680x1050

How small would it be??? ...Im use to 1024*768 on by 15" LCD and 1152*864 on by 19" CRT. Dont know if Ill be able to see such a small res. Also what would happen if I put on a game or a move of say 800*600 resolution?

I have a 15.4" with that resoluton, it looks fine to me. Maybe a bit small but certainly bearable.

For lower resolutions, you can either select a "stretch" option that fills the screen with that resolution, a "scale-up" option to make it fit the screen but keeps proportions intact, or a "centered" option that just displays the picture centered in the middle of the screen at its usual size.

If you have decent eyes, the high resolution looks great. One thing I have found though, is that because things are so small, it takes a lot of work to use the touchpad because you have to be very accurate. I have used one for years, but with this screen, I decided to use a mouse (bluetooth) and it is much faster. I highly recommend both the screen and a mouse.

Thats WSXGA+.

1280x800 is WXGA

19**x1200 is WUXGA

All of which appear on 15.4" screens. Personally i would go with 19**x1200 or WSXGA+ as a minimum.

 You mean that you would go with 1280*800 or 190**x1200?

Personally I dont like stuff thats too small....1024*768 is ideal for a 15" LCD.

I have a 15.4 widescreen and it only looks good with 1280x800. 1024x768 looks too streched out.. Good thing is the only game I play is Counter Strike Source and luckily it has a widescreen option that enables you to run the game at 1280 x 800... w000t

You do realize that you can adjust icon and font size right? I have a 15.4 1920 X 1200 and all I simply did was make the adjustments I needed.

Yes, see my reply above.

Look through the 'advanced' options of your display control panel for a "centered" display option. Where it is exactly will depend on your vid card and drivers.
