Things pop up only when i'm online every 10 minutes or so and it's really starting to tick me off.

Important Notice from MSOFT

Buffer Overflow in Messenger Service Allows Unexpected Computer Shutdown, Virus Infection and Remote Code Execution

Affected Software:

Microsoft Windows XP
(it lists every OS from windows except media center's and ME)

Your system IS affected, download the patch from the address below !
FIRST TYPE THE URL BELOW INTO YOUR INTERNET BROWSER, THEN CLICK 'OK'

The thing is, they all have different sites, some are Patchnow.org and others. One accually states "your computer could be infected by Porn!

I was just wondering if i should take these seriously ( i doubt it though, i just want opinions or facts). I went to PCPitstop and it said that my registry was ok.

Thanks!!

You've probably already done this, but have you ran any spyware/adeware software?

Ad-aware and spybot S&D are good ones if you haven't got them already.

Also, check for suspicious folders inside your programs folder.

And also be on the lookout for malicious processes in the task manager.

Here's a helpful thread on spyware, ect.

EDIT: Task Manager, not task bar. Sorry

Sounds like you are getting hit with "NET SEND" messages, you need to disable the "Messanger" service in the Services control-panel/MMC snap-in thingy. Then you shouldn't get those any more. Don't go to those sites, they try to sucker you in, and I think pay for their "protection", when all you have to do is disable a Windows' feature.

You might also consider enabling the Windows' firewall, or get a 3rd-party firewall.
