I received my brand now Radeon LE yesterday, and cranked that baby up with HyperZ enabled. First, I ran it at 166mhz, with 3dmark, and it ran fine. Cranked it up to 180mhz, and 3dmark ran flawlessly. Cranked it up to 190, and still no problems!
So I thought I was lucky to get a good LE Board. I downloaded the artifact program, and I got 0 artifacts at 190. I left my computer on overnight, and when I got up this morning, turned on my monitor, I see 2d corruption on the desktop, with rainbows everywhere! I'm puzzled, because the 3d intensive benchmarks ran fine, without any problems at 190. But leaving it overnight, just idling on the desktop, and I get 2d corruption?!? Isn't this a little odd?
I'm thinking of course this is due to Ocing, but I also got 2d corruption once before when I first clocked it to 166. That time, as I was closing 3dmark, my desktop turned rainbow. So what do you guys suggest I do, is this due to heat? Should I get some HSF on this stock LE?
