Wierd problem w/internet connection sharing

I'm using AT&T @home cable service on my primary PC, using a small 5 port hub I'm sharing that connection with a second PC by means of Microsoft's Internet Connection Sharing software.

For some strange reason my primary machine will have long delays and pauses when I'm surfing the net. At first I thought it was an outside connection problem but by accident I discovered my second machine never experiences that issue.

Any clues on how to fix something like this

The easiest way to share an internet connection is through a router. They're pretty inexpensive now and saves the time of troubleshooting such programs.

Argh. Don't buy a router.

All's you need is two NICs (or one NIC and a modem), 16 Megs RAM,floppy and CPU that will boot. No HD Necessary.

I'm no Linux Guru, but believe me this was soooo simple to setup, and it runs simply GREAT. Even runs on a 486.
