wierd problem regarding dma and cdrw

i have a tdk 12x10x32 cdrw that when i select dma in the control panel it will not burn when i put it in pio mode it burns at 12x everywhere i see i should have dma checked but it doesnt work. i have a dfi socket 370mobo with 226mb of ram and a 466@525 celery.

My question is why?
