wierd monitor flicker...Help

i have a Samsung Syncmaster 2232bw lcd.

about 4 months ago a problem started where going to play a game or going to some websites the monitor would just go black, the computer would still be running fine and i could hear everything.

if i hit ctrl-alt-del or turn the monitor off and back on the picture would come back and it would work for awhile..

i started leaving it on all the time and not letting it turn off and it didnt do it for awhile unless i restarted.

but now its doing it again all the time..

im guessin the lcd back light it goin out or has a bad connection?

now its going black everytime i change zones or anything on kingdoms of amular

it does it on most games ...if i turn it off and on it come back but it wont on kingdoms sometimes..

any suggestions or a good replacement.

I had a monitor go bad. It was a problem with the voltage regulator (or something) and it started with flickering. Try turning the brightness down and seeing if it improves.

Also if you are handy you can open up the monitor and visually check the capacitors. If they are faulty, they will bulge out or burst. It's not too bad to replace them. However, a symptom of Samsung monitors when the capacitors go bad is that the backlight will flicker or start going out, eventually staying off when the capacitors get bad enough.
