Here are the specs:
Duron 700@900 (107x8.5)
MSI KT7 Pro2a (2.2 bios)
256 Generic PC133 CAS 3
Win2K Pro + sp1

I used CPUID and SiSoft and the memory speed read 142 Mhz. I set the MB for 133. I was wondering where the extra MHZ came from... maybe the FSB but that's only +7 which would be only 140 Mhz, and it's currently at 142 Mhz. Guess i shouldn't be complaining but just thought i was kinda wierd. BTW, do you think going from 256 CAS3 PC133 to 512 CAS2 PC133 is a good upgrade... ie. will i tell the difference? RAM is damn cheap right now and Crucial.com has some great deals. Peace out.

going from CAS3 to CAS2 at that speed would be a very nice difference, yes

as for the memory speed ratings, don't sweat it. Sandra gives me some "different" results when I overclock than my mobo and BIOS also

Newbie--just got a MSI Pro 2a w/256 p133 and have Athlon 850. Note that the overclocking starts at 10x which actually pushed the machine back to 600mhz. Where do i set the fsb? I did pencil over the 4 L1 gates.

FSB settings are where the multiplier settings are. MSI KT7 Pro2a gives you options from 100 - 132 FSB... I would say 110-115 FSB is the max limit of the KT133 chipset. When clocking, make sure you monitor you temps and bump the CPU voltage little bye little if things get unstable at the current speed. I would guess with your 850 Thunderbird that you will get 950+ Mhz. Oh, make sure you have a decent fan on that. I use a F0P32 on one PC and a Taisol 742 w/sunon on another. Both are low-mid 40c looping Quake3. Hope this helps, Peace out.
