Here's the specs
Albatron K8X250GB Pro
A64 3200
eVGA 6800
Audigy 1

I'm up to date with the latest drivers. I had 2x512mb of Mushkin in there and all was good. I got a 1gb stick of Patriot and put it in there instead. I thought it was fine. But, when I join a server with Battlefield 2 and when it gets to verifying client data, it crashes. It never did this before. With only the 1gb stick in, I tried relaxing the timings, setting it to 333mhz and even raised the voltage a notch, with no luck. I got an RMA and got a new stick. I still had the same problem. Got another RMA, but this time got a stick of Corsair. Still no luck. I can't think of a reason for this to happen. Everything else works fine: Q4, HL2, LotR BFME. I don't want to only have 1gb of memory (2x512mb) in my system. I like being able to have the texture settings all the way up.

Dirvers. It happened to me because of my GPU drivers were installed incorrectly. I directly installed a new video driver over a old one and it gave me identical problems in BF2 as well as other games. If you ever update a GPU driver, you must 1st uninstall your old GPU driver and disable all firewalls/ antivirus during the new installation. When you update a mobo driver, you most uninstall all GPU drivers but DO NOT uninstall mobo drivers when you update. Look online for instructions.

if you tried all drivers and a fresh install of windows and it still doesn't work its probably a bum memory stick... try running memtest86+ on the faulty stick... let it go for an hour, maybe more and do a couple of passes and see what turns up... hate to break it to ya but in my experience this is definitely a memory problem...

and if memtest passes, put your machine on prime95 for 24hrs, that will find any memory error.
