alight, my p67 rig has bcome a royal headache.
specs are i my sig, but here is a rndown
gigabyte p67-ud4
i2500k
2x4gb gksill ripjaws 1.5v ddr3-1333
2x5870
i was using 2x30gb vertex in raid 0
with the swap to b3 i bought a 96b kingston ssd
also have a sata iii 1 tb black and a sata dvdrw
i have wierd random crashes and lock ups, it was happening BEFORE with my cougar point board I swapped out, and its still happeing now, even with the new mb, ssd, and fresh win 7 install.
I have gone down to one gpu, and swapped them around.
the lockups are random, open IE machine crashes. it got so bad i couldnt use the machine because itwouldnt boot, but then b3 was rey so I sat on it and hoped it was the mobo.
I messed with the gpus alot due to alot of the crashes being ati driver lockups. but I think thats nt it, since both gpus are unlikely to be bad, and I used one for a month in my htpc(ex gamer) just fine.
when i run windows memtest it will complete fine with either ram stick in, but with BOTH in it crashes the machine eventually.
I just did the usb boot with both sticks and it locked up at like 80%
I am now running it via the usb boot with one stick in, and am going to bed.....
but it passing in windows with either stick in bugged me, so hence the USB boot version, and the post here. I hve the htpc and another rig on my desk but its starting to bother me not being able to use this 1500 dollar box of esentilly, hit, as it sits now
