Wierd lockups on startup, not overclocking..... Is 330watts not enough for p4?

I saw the great things about this new p4b533 and i went and got it along with a 1.6(512) cpu. On bootup for some reason (just installed winxp) if i dont have my winxp disk in the cdrom or dvdrom it says
"press any key to reboot"
I have tried the new bios, and drivers from the disk with mobo, I tried defaults for bios, pnp/os (yes and no), I only had one cdrom plugged in and one hdd to see if it was taking to much power.
This is my first p4 from having a xp1600.
My power supply is an enermax 330watt (or 325). Am i missing something? Can anyone help me?
I am not overclocking (yet ;) ).
I am able to boot to windows if i leave winxp disk in and after it asks for boot disks it says something about disk emulation.
Thanks so much and i await for your responses.

ok - DO NOT USE any bios newer then 1007.003! they are messed up.

are you using a real P4 psu? are both P4 power connectors plugged in?
(the HD molex does not need to be plugged in)

Im using 1006, I have the 4 square connector (the one for the p4) plugged in and the molex i had plugged in for a while but unplugged it thinking it was messing it up.
Should i just try to reinstall windows?

do you have the boot order correct in bios?
is your HD jumpered properly?
are you using the right IDE ports?

If i have the hdd set first it gives me
"hit any key to reboot"
Only way i can boot up is when i put my drive with the winxp disk first. I had an old xp install on the other hdd when i installed on the new hdd. So now it asks me what winxp i want to boot( i can only choose the new one). I reformatted the partition that had the old install on it and still it has the two to choose from.
The jumpers are correct.
Do i need new firmware for my cdrw? Whats emulation?

i dont know much about WinXP - but id say its a OS problem.
clean up your drives - fdisk, format, and reload.

Not a "P4 proficient" person but I can tell you that your trouble is NOT your PS. You need to set the boot order correctly in the BIOS and make sure you "Save and Exit" the BIOS. Set the boot order to HDD 0. Set the second option to whatever you want; floppy or CDROM. After one initial boot, all should be OK.

The dual boot choice can be edited by:

click START button
right click My Computer
click properties
click Advanced
click settings for Start-up and Recovery
at the top you will see the drop down list of OS's that were detected
choose one and then uncheck "time to display list of operating systems"

It will now only boot to that OS.

<---is a tool.

What i was doing was having my slave have the partition that would be hosting the os. I have a 60 gig and a 40 in that order so i set in boot up for the 40. It didnt work till i set it to boot from the 60. Anyway thank you so much for helping me out guys, and iron woode thanks very much for telling me how to fix that i did it and its working great.
