I have 3 computers connected to a small hub, and running win98se with tcp.ip and ipx/spx installed,. internet connection sharing installed,
and fiel and print sharing....

Now, everythign has been working great for months, and then all of a sudden with NO change in settings, none of the computers can see
each other any longer. The internet connection sharing still works, and printing SOMETIMES works, but you cannot share files.. or
see any of the other computers...

any ideas?

Since your Internet sharing works, your hardware is probably working correctly.

?Computers nott seeing one the other?, is usually a result of faulty sharing setting.

If you have Software Firewall on any of the computers, disable it and look carefully over the share settings.

Networking and sharing between computers.

why do you need IPX anyway?

more info needed, maybe you upgraded something on your computers? some changes with network configuration? upgraded O/S?
i don't trust ICS's DHCP i always use manual IP. IMO the most stable and painless way to network. I have mine up for over a year (a switch) works flawlessly

TCP/IP is probably the only protocol you need for home networking. Netbeui, ipx and all that is unnecessary IMO.

anyway, I have ipx setup, because for some reason I run into trouble sharing files, printer, and internet all over tcp/ip they seem t conflict with each other.. how can I set them all up to just use tcp/ip?

Uninstall IPX, and install NetBEUI. Uncheck TCP/IP from File, and Printer sharing. Check NetBEUI as the protocol for file and printer sharing, and make it default protocol.

If need info to set look here: Setting Up, Windows 98 / 98-SE.
