I just got one of my newsystem running. specs:

msi KT4V series
1700+ tberd B
ax-7 w/80mm fan
8x agp msi 4200
2x256 2100 DDR(crucial and corsair)
380w psu
win xp pro

i download the newest 43.xx drivers and install them and it sticks at 42%. Its done that in the past on other rigs put only for a second. But it stays there and stays there and on and on. My computer doesnt freeze but it will only install the nvidia folder in my c drive but not the display drivers?!!?! wtf.. I tried the 41.xx drivers and same thing. I then reformatted. Any help or suggestions on this problem?

Some tips, don`t have any anti-virus program active while you install it,close non-essential programs down,I normally remove the old drivers via Control Panel then add /removes program icon then select "Nvidia software" after that I reboot and also delete the Nvidia folder in Windows, then install the new drivers by clicking on the exe.file.

You could try Driver cleaner 1.3 ,which is handy to have for the future if you get problems.

Btw that`s a VIA board so do you`ve the latest VIA AGP driver installed? I do for my XP/VIA combo, the default VIA AGP driver in XP is quite old.

By default on install ,only the VIA AGP driver and INF files will be updated ,if you want to update your VIA Bus Master IDE driver you have to do it via Device manager, select the "VIA Bus Master Controller" and right click with mouse and select update driver,it should do a search and find the updated driver.

To check you have latest VIA AGP driver installed go to Device Manager and go to "System devices" then "VIA CPU to AGP controller",select properties(right click with mouse again) and then driver details via driver tab.

Yes it does not go through the Win98 VIA install on reboot with XP.
