Wierd---EAC--diff't speeds w/ two same model scsi drives

OK...got two SCSI CD Roms (40x) from Toshiba. Older drives, but still great drives, IMO.

Anyway:
Got 2 scsi cards just for kicks.
1 Tekram
1 Adaptec

Drive 1: Reads steady @ 1.5-2x.
Drive 2: Reads steady @ 5-7.5x

Strange that a scsi card would make a 100% difference like that---both cdroms are the only device on the scsi chain, and both self terminate-0----both are on 80Kb/s channels (but the drive only goes up to 40Kb/s)

Gonna try a few more cd's and then switch the cables around and see if the controller still makes that big of difference.

That being said....just curious as to what others got speed wise w/ EAC and what model of a CDR/CDRW were you using?
