I just started having some really weird problems with my computer. I unplugged it after shutting it down normally to do some work on my brothers computer. After I was done, I plugged it back in and it would not fully boot into windows anymore. Here is why I cannot figure out if it is hardware or software related.
Before, when the comp was working normally, it would say the specs of the hard drive that was attached during bios. It would say there was a 74g and 400g hard drive there as well as a DVD rom. Now, it merely says IDE hard drive for both and CD-ROM drive for the DVD player. Then it would start to boot into windows, and as soon as the scrolling bar went away, the screen will blank out. The monitor basically goes into sleep mode and windows doesn't go any further. What's more, is that I can't seem to get it into safe mode to check things out. F8 doesnt seem to work for me.
I reset the bios after playing around with them, I unplugged the hard drives, booted up, shut down, and then plugged them back in hoping the error would correct itself. I had the system overclocked, however, it was stable for months and I have proper cooling on it. I have never had this problem before. Any suggestions would be very helpful. I'm at a loss of what to do here now. I don't wanna format if its a bios issue.
Bios version 1101. Specs are in my sig. Windows was recently updated fully.
EDIT: Got partway into safe mode...apparently, it is F5...im used to win2k I guess. Anyway, at safe mode boot, it stopped and froze at jgogo.sys. Won't go any further than that.
