wierd 56K problems....

hello well I connected yesterday....it looked fine...started check my e-mail...forums...etc...then it started to lag and it stopped for 10 seconds...didn't think anythnig of it...but then it did the same thing in 1 minite and it kept doing it over and over and over again....it was so annoying especially in tfc because it would always lag at the important parts....well it continued all though the night so I went to bed at 2 a.m. hoping that the problem would fix itself by the time I woke up...well it didn't...so it kept repeating itself today over and over again and it's still doing it as I type...anyways.....how do I stop it???? it was working fine before friday....and it's so annoying!!!!
