And we (not Wie) still dote over the tennie bopper. Wie has not earned the right to participate in any of the Men's events she has played in. Sponsers continue to give her expemptions just to promote their tournement and sell tickets. Plus, now she's talking trash about wanting to be on a Ryder Cup team in the future. This makes me sick..she hasn't even demonstrated she can win against her peers much less play with the best men in the world. It is also unfair to the women on tour...many of which are far better than Wie. Their Metal has been tested under fire by "winning" events against the best in "their" class. I'm off the Playworld to buy her a Barbie Doll.

Some people attract more attention to themselves than their game. Another obvious example would be Anna Kournikova. Every sport needs their media darling...

Why can't the media like that one female player that was in FHM and is actually the only attractive female golfer to ever play...and is actually talented?

Of course, and so is Wie. I don't know much about Wie, but anyone that even has the capacity to play in any of these tournaments is obviously a good player. The conflict comes from all the attention they get when far better players don't, but then that goes back to what I said.

One thing I really like about Golf is that you can't play unless you really are good enough, unlike other pro sports where guys get multi-year contracts to play.

It was cute the first time she entered a men's tournament. Now it's just annoying. She can't even compete anyway. And for that matter, she can't even WIN on the women's tour. Focus on beating the women first.

She's still very young, but I think that she should compete w/ her level first then move on. She's extremely talented and skilled for her age and has a bright future. There's no need to rush anything, but blame it on sponsors and media. They see a talented, attractive 16 year old and want her covered as much as possible. It's almost as if they're exploiting her to gain attention.

sucks for her.

God, Wie sucks bad. Why she wants to compete on the PGA tour is beyond me. She can't even hack it on the LPGA circuit!

She can't "hack it"? She's finished top five several times, I think that's a wee bit more than not being able to "hack it". Also, she can't really play "the circuit", as she is limited to playing 6 events a year on the LPGA, so her ability to gain experience is limited.

And I don't care how good she is, she's raking in the cash. $10 million/year endorsements, $700K endorsement fees for a men's tourney's where the total prize pool was only 600K, etc.

None of this qualifies her to be playing in event on the PGA tour. Being a capable teenager, which she is, doesnt cut it on the PGA tour and doesnt make it right for her to be taking a spot in a tournement that others are out there beating there brains out to get.

She's an awesome player and since pro golf is very big business, I have absolutely no problem if sponsors want to invite her to their own tournaments. They are the ones putting up the millions in prize money that continues to grow every year.

However I'm not a fan of Wie believing that she deserves something she hasn't earned and would love to see her put her game where her mouth is, or stfu until she does. Yes she's only 16, but she's starting to run her mouth beyond her years as well. If she continues to talk without the walk, expectations that she is helping to create, she's going to garner nothing but resentment from the public.

It really doesn't matter how much resentment she gets from the public. When and If she eventually starts winning, the public will immediately be all over her. She could fail for 40 years and then if she starts beating the men, she will be on the front page every day.
