I'm wondering if i can do more to clean my internet history,,,u got cookies, history, temp. internet history,,,is there more?,,,thx,

That's all that I know of.
If you goto START>PROGRAMS>ACC>SYSTEM TOOLS>DISK CLEANUP that does a bunch all at the same time.

This is an interesting subject. Not alot of people are aware of this, but cleaning up your temporary internet files and cookies does not delete your surfing history. Windows keeps a copy of pretty much every site you go to in a hidden file called index.dat, which cannot be seen even if you enable the view hidden files and system files options. Here is a link discussing the problem, and a few ways around it.Click

PS: Im sorry about the name of the site. It's a good, serious read all the same.

Thx Saltin,,,this just shows how much privacy we do have,,,thx again, and looking forward to executing all things mentioned in the article,,,

It certainly is a scary issue. I work with NT systems for a living, and while I may defend the quality of the OS on the boards, I certainly do not condone features like this. I have verified this feature in all versions of MS OS's from 98 to XP.

OK,so say i was ready to ditch IE,,,,,which browser would someone recommend?,,,,,seems to me the browsers work thru MS Windows, maybe not,,maybe steer me in the rite direction,,,,tyia

well if you want to really ditch ie, you really need to ditch ms altogether .. not flaming or saying you should, just stating that if you want to get away from ie, and practices like this, there is only one solution .. either move away from ms, or live with it .. just live with no privacy and kiss big brother goodnight everynight before you go to bed=) ..

<< adaware does nothing for popups >>

lol your wrong it does, it stops 95 % of spyware and stops majority of the pop ups that come with signing on the net or when you start IE! When ever I go over my friends houses and play around with there pc's I get major popups, then I install that program and wola bye bye all gone so in my opinon your wrong !

Is this your site? Is that you using IE? http://what.affari.to/
