Hi I'm looking for a TRUE Widescreen TV with a 16:9 resolution. I'm looking for one that is 20" to 27" because I am trying to fit this TV into a small space and the TV I currently have is too small. When I mean TRUE Widescreen I mean a TV that is actually at the 16:9 resolution and not the "V-Compression" or 16:9 Enhanced Mode because that essentially means a 4:3 TV with zoom capability. Also the TV has to be a TUBE, Preferably Flat Tube TV since I can't afford the better alternatives. Thanks Very much!

discussion on best 30in widescreen

30in is the minumun that these tvs come in. Anything smaller will not be a widescreen in a direct view tube.

IMO, the best 30in widescreen directview is the sony KV-30XBR910. Its last yrs model, but its the got the best tube and the finest aperature grille, which gives it the most pixels and most resolution. Downside is that its not quite as bright as some of the others, but its the closest you can get to a professional reference monitor you can find. You should be able to find it for around 1600-1800.

If yer looking for something cheaper, go for the samsung. I have one of their 4:3 27in hd set in my bedroom. Its been working great for over 3yrs.

Good luck.
