Widescreen or no?

Which one is the better choice for a PC user who mostly plays games and browses the web? I don't really do photo editing, etc.

Is it maybe just personal taste? I know there's games that don't fully support widescreen, so that could bother me. And I also don't like to think that even games that do support widescreen formats will appear fatter. I'm currently using a 17 in widescreen (laptop) monitor, and I've been pretty happy with it, but I don't think I'll miss the more rectangular shape. Thanks.

thanks, but I've actually used that with BF2 (well I still am, but not really because I don't really play anymore). Works alright; some letters and stuff a little glitchy though.
