Widescreen gaming

I've got a Sager 3790 w/ a P-M 1.7 and 9700 mobility 128 meg. I want to play games in widescreen, but they don't ever have the right resolution (the screen is WUXGA, 1920x1200 pixels).

How can you make a game run at a set resolution?

I'm looking at Dungeon Siege, Morrowind, Halo... mebbe some others later as well.

Yes, it can run at that high a resolution; Morrowind does fine at 1600x1200 w/ 16x AF and 2xAA, so I'm sure it could stretch to 1920x1200 and run fine.

The game engine needs to support non-standard aspect ratios, and even then it often requires hacking configuration files or the like. Most games will only run at 4:3 resolutions.

Wow... it works for both Morrowind and DS at 1920x1200 🙂

Thank you much Arkali.

I haven't tried Halo yet, but I'm sure it won't run at that rez anyway, esp. w/ the shader effects.
