'wide' case recommendation needed

I don't necessarily like full tower cases. They're big, heavy and I find, unnecessary (for me).

What I'd like to have is a mini, or mid-tower case that is a bit wider (side to side), so that the CD-ROM drive, when pushed back into the case, does not hit or touch the corner of the motherboard, where the RAM usually sits.

I have CD, DVD, CDRW and in every mini or mid-tower case that I like, the third and fourth 5.25 bays cannot be used for CD-ROM drives, because when the drive is pushed back into the bay, it contacts the PCB of the motherboard.

Any and all recommendations to wide cases that offset the 5.25 drive bays to eliminate this potential contact is greatly appreciated.

I like this one:

Anybody recognize the design? picture

I am not sure how you would classify the Enlight 7237. As a full or a mid, but its dimensions are...~ 17" tall, 20" long and 7 1/2" wide but I never have that problem ever. If you get one from Onvia you get free shipping. Assuming they still have them.

Nice info ... I searched and found a review on allhw.com that included an internal picture. The case is deep and the CD-ROM would not interfere with the installed motherboard.

you might also want to check out the in-win S500/506. (H*W*D) -- 16 1/2" * 7 3/4" * 18 55/16". some people say it's better than the enlights because the steel is a little thicker, the quality is slightly better, and is quieter.

Checking their web site out now ... thx for the pointers.

Their wide cases are 0.9375" wider than 'standard' ... 7.75" vs 8.6875" and all of the space appears to be on the motherboard side.
