Wich video card should i get?

So far I'm looking at the Radeon 9600XT

~$150 ? 9600XT

~$175 ? 5900XT

~$210 ? 9800Pro

i'd say i wana stay in the 150-170 range, is the 5900XT better then the 9600XT? i heard Nvidia's XT series sucked

The Gainward has a slightly faster core clock, I'd go with it. Either will be faster than a 9600XT.

nVidia's XT line is a bit slower then their regular parts, but the 5900 blows away the 9600 so even though the 5900XT is slower then the regular 5900 and the 9600XT is faster then the regular 9600 the 5900XT is still easily the better choice when compared to the 9600XT.

BTW- Gainward tends to be considered the best of the nVidia boards.

I just got a 9600 pro for around 136 dollars at new egg. The gigabyte version. It runs every game I have threw at it so far like a champ.

Search these forums or google for 5900XT, it beats a 9600XT in 95%+ of all benchmark, often by a lot.
