This Raidmax, I just like the looks of the case but Ive never heard of the company and I cant seem to find review on it. 2 Front USB 2.0, dont have a mobo that supports this yet....but maybe soon. Has the 420watt psu, raidmax brand...this psu anygood?

$109 on newegg

Or

This Antec, I have heard good things about this case and its about $20 cheaper. This is the less flashy case that I know would be good. The front USB ports are not USB 2.o Compatible from what Ive heard...? But it does have firewire.

$92 on newegg

Any input?

I'd just get a chieftec case with a window w/o power supply. 68 bucks + shipping. But out of those two i'd go with the Antec case, I don't like the way the door looks on that raidmax case and you get a decent PSU as well.

I was just looking at the Chieftec colored (blue) windowed case WITH the psu (foxconn). I may just do that...I did a search here and didnt see any complaints....how are those PSUs?

I never heard of Raidmax brand too. But the Raidmax case does look a bit more flashy than Antec one. I think a good PSU is really important to keep all your system runs properly. If you are not sure with the PSU that comes with the case, just get yourself a good branded PSU.

Other than that, everything comes down to your budget and taste really. Personally, I don't really care about the case as long as it does its job properly 🙂

I think for a case that not many people know about (or have reviews for), you should really see it in person before buying. It's worth going with the Antec here.

make sure it has a removable MB tray, it's makes things so much easier. I just built a systtem with an Antec SKL3700 solutions series, and it didnt have a removable MB tray. What a pain in the arss because now one of the screws wont come out all the wayt, only about 3/4 of the way out, so I cant remove it. Plus it was a bitch to get it in place to begin with.
I m currently looking for a Dremel with a flex shaft to cut that sucker off.

Im a firm believer in Antec, and I love there cases. Strong, durable, easiliy moddable, and lots of room. And no, those front USB are 1.1 and will not work with 2.0 no matter what you do, ( I tried, trust me) Antec doesn't seem to keen on updating them anytime soon either. Owell, nothings perfect. Heres some pictures of "Blue Fantasy"

I've used a number of Raidmax cases with 350w power supplies included, and never had a single problem with them. I get them from Thechipmerchant.com, and they also have this "Elements" case with 450w ps that looks much the same.

To me it looks like you're paying $20 extra dollars for a flashy door bezel and a powersupply that doesn't have the same rep as the Antec True.

If you have the time available you could always put some nifty mods on an Antec door and make it look however you like. Plenty of Mod links can be found on this board and people have done some neat stuff with those Antec doors including LCD displays, neato LEDs, lit case badges, window mods, and on and on....

Also, that PSU may be just as good as the Antec true and you may never have any problems with it... but do you really want to risk your rig on it?

That's what I thought 😉
