I have to install Win2000 professional by myself . My HDD is of 20 GB of which I have allocated 10 GB for windows and 10 GB for linux(of which 3 GB is vacant). Now I have to completely remove win98 which is my current operating system and to replace it by Win2000. I have also to take backup of about 800 MB of data from the system.
I am thinking that I should move that files to Linux partition and then uninstall win 98 and then after installing win 2000 copy it back in win partition. So that way I will not require another any medium for storing that file while I will retain it.
What is your opinion? Am I write or wrong? your comment/suggestions/precautions/tips would quite help me to understand the process and I would be saved from doing anything wrong.
Please also refer this message to ANYONE whom you know is knowing something about and I would be highly obliged to you for your precious comment/suggestions/precautions/tips.
Please help me.

Please sent the reply message also to zohar@indiatimes.com as my ISP given e-mail address zohr@im.eth.net sometimes blanks the data and in that case I will be unable to get your valuable information. Please do mark it for getting you read receipt which is in view|options in outlook 2000 and is in tools|options|receipt in outlook express. I will surely give the read receipt on receiving your message
