Wi-fi won't show up with router

I'm trying to fix a friends router. It's a linksys WRT54G on the latest v24 beta DD-WRT firmware.

Recently the wi-fi stopped working on it. He can pick up other wi-fi signals from his neighbors (showing that his devices aren't the ones not working), and the router itself (aside from wi-fi) works perfectly (like the ethernet ports).

What should I do to try and fix this?

Check if the SSID and disable security change channel and check if all setting match.

If it works enable security again and take it from there.

If it still does not work try to reflash.

Reflash, did not help, it might be a time for a new device.

I just installed this latest firmware, and it had the same problem.

How exactly do I reflash the router? Would it be the same steps as if I were going to flash it normally?

I'm thinking he'll just need a new router.
