Wi-Fi routing issue on local network

Hi there

I am having trouble getting my Wi-Fi connected devices to see the rest of my network, specifically my mythtv server. I am able to ping if when I am connected via Ethernet but if I unplug and go on Wi-Fi I am unable to see it.

I am running Cisco/Linksys x3000 with a ddwrt buffalo link station attached to extend the network. The x3000 controls the network ah issues IP addresses.

Are there any settings in the x3000 firmware that can be causing this problem?

Make sure the router is not set to use wifi isolation (makes each wireless device unable to see any other devices on the network, or guest wireless (makes it so the wireless devices can only access the Internet).

Thanks I can verify that it is a setting on my Linksys x3000 as when I connect to my other router it can see the other devices.

No I just need to find the right setting in the firmware. It is a pity that the firmware is so crippled (compared to ddwrt).

Tried to update the firmware buy no luck (at least the latest vulnerabilities have been patched).

I guess the next step is to do a factory reset but that will be a pain as I have changed a number of settings obey the last year or so.

How do you have the Linksys set up vs the Buffalo? sounds like you have multiple subnets setup. Is the Buffalo set up as a slave access point with DHCP turned off? Where is the server in the topology?

Do you see a pattern of which machines can see your server and which can not? I had difficulty until I turned of the DHCP on my second router.

The buffalo is set up as the slave and i did turn off dhcp. The server is on the linksys

On some further research it looks like it is a problem with the x3000. I can work around the issue by connecting to the buffalo when on Wi-Fi.
