most geeks are just as stupid. following instructions that others spent weeks creating the exploit and looking for holes in the OS isn't a sign of intelligence. how many geeks actually know how to create a jailbreak or a new android root?

Actually, it IS a sign of intelligence - using available information to accomplish your goal. Trying to reinvent the wheel - that's stupid. Not knowing how to buy/download music without itunes - that's also stupid.
