I cannot believe companies run wireless.

It soo unsecure unless you run the cisco wireless.

or put a firewall up and run a vpn connection though it but what a hassle.

well, warehouses and what not absolutley require it. (inventory, shipping, real-time, etc)

kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't. But there are ways to make it secure (ala Cisco's stuff)

its not harsh, only meant to SOUND harsh(deterrent), hes non violent, he'll be out in 4 months, probably less. hell, in some towns, they probably kick him out the next morning, jails are overcrowded with violent criminals.

ANd probably within 6 months he will have figured out there is more money in being paid to secure networks, instead of hack them.

nine years? He should get like 6 months imo, if that. How ridiculous is that. And somebody convicted of assault sometimes gets a year maybe, what a load of crap. Did he even do any damage?

harmless hacking I can see a kid getting a warning, but stealing credit card numbers from a large chain such as lowes? ouch, thats potential for HUGE damage, not to mention a lot of pissed of people, broken privacy laws, etc etc

I say about a year. Maybe 8 months with good behavoir.


Then he figures out he can work the other side for more.

I don't think they got anything (not sure), it is the potential damage and malacy that they nailed him on.

You guys obviously have no idea how the federal prison system works, or how little they credit inmates for good behavior. He'll do 7.65 years, minimum... 54 days/year good time...

It's not like Florida, where the citizenry thinks prisoners can be locked up for free, and federal rules about crowding, etc force prison officials to find a lot of creative ways to spin the revolving door a little faster....

if the prisons are so crowded, perhaps we can wall off a large, abandoned, urban area and just let the prisoners run amock there.

Why do people act like male rape in prison is perfectly understandable, acceptable, a part of the punishment almost?

No-one jokes about women being raped.
