11-4-2003 North Carolina Man Pleads Guilty to Wireless Crime

A North Carolina man was convicted on Tuesday of the first ever wireless Internet-related crime in the United States. As the technology becomes more familiar to users across the globe, so does the ability for hackers to take advantage of other peoples' privacy. The 29-year old man pleaded guilty to hacking into more than 2,000 patient records through the wireless Internet in his effort to prove a point that confidential medical records are vulnerable to computer hackers like himself. The network that was broken into has since been secured.

At least until someone else breaks into it.

Hmm, perfect example here of the double-posting phenomenon. Clicked "Reply" and this page reloaded, but from where I don't know, because the reply does not appear below. Opening a new window though, then refreshing there, my post went through.
This post here is from the first window, after it supposedly didn't send the reply. Weird.
Ok, you may now resume your normal lives.

I wonder who got their point across more clearly... the hacker or the state. :)

How te hell did this retard get caught?! It is EXTREMELY hard to find someone who is hacking into your wireless network. What was he doing, sitting in the doctor's waiting room with his laptop? His dumb ass mouth is what probably got him caught.
