Why's my computer such a memory hog?

eP?

I just upgraded my computer for the fun of it again so I'm now sitting with 384 MB of RAM. That's a lot, but for some reason I'm still running at low percentages for available memory. According to windows I only have 32% free right now and unless I'm missing something I don't think that number should be that low. I'm running win98 SE, NAV enterprise Ed. and some other programs such as winamp, scour, asus monitoring software, and word. Should these be draining my system or is it something else?

Thanks

If you are looking at the available system resources, don't pay attention to it. It's not necessarily just reading how much RAM is available. I can't explain why, because it would make most sense, but you could have 64% with 64MB, then upgrade to 512MB, and it won't change. Look in BIOS, and if it reads that you have the correct amount in the correct spots, stick to that. You might also want to mabye download a program that will read your RAM and give you specs on it.
