Why?

This is a serious question, why do people who do Cocaine lose weight or don't gain any even if they do eat a lot? How does that work?

I don't know, but I would assume that a large contributing factor would be that it speeds up your metabolism.

edit: damn you josh.

cocaine = stimulant = decreased appetite
Examples of common stimulants include caffeine, amphetamines, ecstasy and cocaine, although there are many others.
They are also used and sometimes abused to boost endurance and productivity as well as to suppress appetite.

Doctors say cocaine acts as an appetite suppressant to such an extent that it can make users vulnerable to malnutrition. Long-term use can result in a range of mental health conditions from mild depression to the extremes of cocaine psychosis with symptoms similar to schizophrenia.

It looks like cocaine works by supressing your apetite and increasing your metabolism.

Xanis, nice link, informative.

Here is a study where a rat would eat a lot while on cocaine, and wouldn't gain any weight-
Study

One would assume that is because it is a stimulant.

I thought all stimulants had this effect?
