err.. where? you sure that's not for the actual engine cover? my undercarriage got torn off and i never replaced it because I didn't want to pay the $120 they wanted for it.

My engine cover i tossed because it was harboring mice in the winter...

it was there....now it's out of stock. RockAuto also had it for 40.XX, but now they do not show it anymore. Perhaps they got it from the same warehouse?

edit:

it's back in stock!

My Jeep GC has a huge, thick, flat cover over the whole front end underneath. I presume it's to keep off-roading debris out of everything. It's very easily removed and replaced, though. Just 4 screws, and the back 2 only have to be loosened.

😀 After you replace it, take pictures of it the morning you go to the dealership (with a coupon) for an oil change. Before you leave, check under the car. Then raise a stink.

My rule of thumb: check under the car after a couple miles to make sure the oil isn't leaking out of the oil pan due to cross-threading or something. If I'm not present during the oil change (generally, at the place I go to, I don't even have to get out of the car), I always check to see that the oil cap is back on before I leave. Ditto, after getting any tire work done - check all 4 sets of lugnuts, check for hubcaps, etc.

Really, though, when there's a $9.99 oil change special, it's definitely worth it. The place that has that special generally has about $1000 in recommended work for my car when they're finished, then they try to talk me into getting at least some of that work done. My car does not leave my sight when they're working on it. I'm not allowed into the garage, but there are plenty of places to watch what's going on.
